Announcing the IIE PEER Scholarship Database

Jusoor is excited to announce the launch of the Platform for Education in Emergencies Response, or IIE PEER. Jusoor has partnered with IIE, the British Council, DAAD, and six other organizations to launch this online database connecting Syrian students with scholarships, as well as online and language learning opportunities.

IIE PEER is designed to connect talented Syrian students with educational opportunities so they may continue formal and informal higher education. The database allows students to easily search by opportunity type, country, degree type, or keyword.

Upcoming Teacher Training in Gazientep

After Jusoor’s successful regional training workshop in Beirut, we are excited to announce that we are organizing a second training workshop on emergency education in Gaziantep from the 25-26 of March. The workshop, made possible through support by the Varkey Foundation and a collaboration with Al Fatih school, will target 25-30 teachers, principals, and directors in NGOs, schools, and orphanages serving Syrian refugee children in southern Turkey.

The workshop will focus on enhancing teachers’ ability to work in an emergency context in the following areas: pedagogy and classroom management, psychosocial support, and extracurricular activities and integrating sports in classroom. The training will be conducted by three experts working in the field of emergency education in Lebanon.

Your continued support enables us to support others. Stay involved by donating, volunteering, and spreading the word about Jusoor’s work.
