Jusoor Summer Program 2018: A Wire Connecting Souls

Gianluca Generoso , Italian

Another intense day at Jaraahiye is over. As a sports volunteer my task is to help children play during their outdoor break hour. Even if it may seem trivial, it is not an easy task to canalize students’ energy in meaningful and collaborative games, but it is indeed very fun for me and my Co-teachers.

Besides playing we also create activities devoted at fostering kids meditation capabilities. Today for example we carried out an activity consisting in asking every pupil how they do feel and why, and then make a knot with red wire on their index. By the time the activity is over, the kids will have formed a red web, representing the way they connected through their emotions.

Gianluca has volunteered at Jusoor’s educational centers in Lebanon during July and August 2018 as part of the summer volunteer program. You can read more posts by our volunteers here.
