Entrepreneurship Competition

Jusoor is happy to announce the launch of it’s THIRD Entrepreneurship Competition!

For all Syrian entrepreneurs who want to develop their ideas, acquire new skills in entrepreneurship, prepare for accelerators and seed investors, and win financial prizes!

The application for Jusoor’s Entrepreneurship Competition is now open until March 24th, 2017.

The program includes a one week bootcamp in Beirut (all expenses paid) for the finalist teams which provides them with the opportunity to gain new entrepreneurial skills and interact with the Lebanese startup community. The competition will end with a Demo Day and Entrepreneurship Gathering that will be open to the public and free, dates and registration forms for the last day will be announced in April. The program will host a number of local and international trainers in addition to many regional and international business accelerator and incubator executives.

The Competition Phases

Submit an Application

Up to March 24th – Hundreds of Syrian entrepreneurs will answer an open call to submit their applications to participate in the competition.


April 3rd – 9th – 10 to 15 teams selected to move forward to Jusoor’s Bootcamp in Beirut (All expenses covered by Jusoor) where they will receive mentorship and build on their ideas to become pitch ready.

Final Pitches

April 10th – Demo Day & Entrepreneurship Gathering – Teams will pitch their ideas to a panel of judges who will select and announce the winning teams.

Selection Criteria

Applicants will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Could be in either Social (none profit) or Startup (for profit) categories
  • At least one founding member must be Syrian or have grown up in Syria for the majority of his/her life
  • All projects should have at least a proof of concept (we DO NOT accept idea stage applications)
  • The startup must be in the seed phase: team in place and can demonstrate a track record of performance and potential revenue generation
  • The project has to be scalable and the team should be able to demonstrate a revenue and profit model clearly
  • Applications can be in any industry with a focus on social and economic development impact and providing a solution to a problem

  • Where will the bootcamp be held? How long does it take the Bootcamp?
  • The program will be held 3 – 10 April 2017 in Beirut, Lebanon.

  • What is the selection process of winners?
  • At the end of the bootcamp, all 10-15 teams will be asked to pitch their startups to a panel of judges who will select the final winners of the competition.

  • Is it possible for the participants in last year’s competition to re-apply for this year?
  • Yes, except the winning teams from previous competitions.

  • Could I apply for the competition in case I only have the idea of the startup?
  • No, priority is given to teams that have a prototype and are already working on their projects.

  • Who will cover the accommodation and travel costs during the bootcamp?
  • Jusoor will cover all costs during the bootcamp.

  • Will there be any support from companies after the end of the bootcamp?
  • Jusoor will help all finalist teams where they will offer advice and guidance to the participants and help them develop and prepare their projects and link them to a number of potential mentors, partners and investors.

  • How many people can participate in the bootcamp in case the teams has been selected?
  • Each team can choose only one person to participate in the bootcamp. In case the team would like to have more members participate, then they will have to cover their expenses.
